Bears finish round robin with 4-0 record

BEC won the game 59-49 to improve to 4-0 after the round robin. Robert Odo had a team-high 15 points for the Bears in the contest. Carter Brown chipped in with 11 points and Jason Murphy and Tsukasa Ikuta both added nine points apiece. Yvon Abobi recorded a game-high 18 points for the Athlétique­s (0-3). Mathis Beaudoin notched 15 points and Thoman Drolet netted six points. In other action Thursday, the Riverview Royals downed the L’Externat Saint-Jean Eudes Condors of Quebec City, Que., 75-39. Mitchell Mersereau had a team-high 16 points for the Royals while Josh Crocker scored 14 points and Dylan Quirk dropped 11 points. Jérémy Labrecque had a game-high 18 points for the Condors. Mark Rondeau had six points and Lucas Lougnarath found the net for five points. In girls’ action, Breton Education Centre downed the Yorkton Raiders of Yorkton, Sask., 62-45. Abby MacNeil continued her impressive Coal Bowl Classic with a game-high 27 points for the Bears. Avery MacKinnon chipped in with 10 points and Chloe MacPherson and Gracie Neville both added eight points for BEC. Austen Dubreuil had 12 points for the Raiders while Sarah Novakowski and Emma Money both posted six points. Other scores Thursday saw Yorkton over St. Mark 65-39 and Halifax Grammar downing Leduc 94-52. The tournament continued Friday with the semifinals. Score results were not available at press time. The consolatio­n game is slated for today at noon and the championsh­ip game at 2 p.m. at the BEC gym in New Waterford.
