-

The family of the late Cora Standing of North Sydney wishes to acknowledge the many expressions of sympathy and gestures of kindness shown to us following our sad loss. We offer our heartfelt thanks to the many friends, neighbours and well-wishers who visited our home, attended the wake and service; and, offered kind words of encouragement. For those who telephoned; brought nutritious and delicious food; travelled long distances; sent floral tributes, cards and messages of condolences; as well as those who made charitable donations, we are truly grateful. A special word of thanks to Dr. John Kirkpatrick, who was an exceptionally good doctor to our Mom for years, to Susan and Dr. Ritter, Palliative Care for your compassion and assistance in making Mom comfortable and the management, nurses and staff of the Northside Community Guest Home (Joseph Hall) for their kindness, competence and respect shown to our Mom, Grandmother and Super Nana at all times. To Erin MacDonald who took on the task of writing and delivering a beautiful Eulogy celebrating her grandmother; to David Murray and the choir of St. John’s Anglican Church, who sang their hearts out; to Raylene MacKinnon and Alan Gale, who serenaded us with their and beautiful voices and talent; thank you. Our family wishes to recognize the contributions of: readers, Roy Webber and Christopher MacDonald, whose delivery was clear and respectful; Pall bearers Jordan MacLeod, Christopher MacDonald, Gerard MacIntyre, Brendan MacKenzie, Bill and Garland Standing, who carried Mom to her final resting place; the Funeral Committee of St. John’s who provided a comforting lunch and tea for mourners following the services; Rev. Julio Martin, who provided a service and sermon Mom would have been honored by; and finally, W J Dooley Funeral Home, for the sensitive and professional handling of the arrangements. To those who helped in any way, your contributions made our loss more bearable. As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgment as an expression of our deepest gratitude. Mom will be missed forever, but you know that she will live in the hearts of all who shared grief with us during this difficult time.
