Wrestling returns to Cape Breton on June 1

RESERVE MINES — Wrestling returns to Cape Breton with East Coast Pro Wrestling’s Island Invasion 2019 at the Reserve Mines Fire Hall on Saturday, June 1 at 7 p.m.

Making his return to ECPW for the first time since 2010 will be former WWE superstar Gangrel. The former member of the Brood and partner of Edge and Christian, Gangrel is one of the most active stars on independen­t wrestling circuit, competing all over the world.

South Bar native Covey Christ will also be taking part. This upand-comer has been competing in every major promotion in the Maritimes and other parts of Canada and the United States. He is trained by wrestling star Scott D’Amore.

The main event of Island Invasion will feature longtime reigning and defending ECPW Heavyweigh­t Champion Kowboy Mike Hughes stepping back in the ring with the man he defeated for the title in 2007, Cape Breton’s own Duke MacIsaac.

Both of these men are veterans of Maritime wrestling and have had many matches against each other. This rematch will set the stage for ECPW wrestling fans on June 1.

Other stars scheduled to appear include Lincoln Steen, Titus, Women’s Action and many more.

A VIP reserved ringside seat with early entry meet and greet, event poster and a question and answer with Gangrel is $25. General admission is $15 advance and $20 at the door.
