Let me ask you a few questions.

Are you single? Have you been lookin’ for love in all the wrong places? Have dating apps been a letdown? Are there “plenty of fish” in the sea, but you can’t seem to hook the right one?

Don’t despair! Help may be on the way and it’s coming from a very unlikely place.

The Marion Bridge and Area Community Council will be hosting “Triple D Night” on Saturday, July 20. You may be asking yourself, what is a Triple D Night? Well, Triple D stands for date, dinner and dance. It’s a matchmaking concept that is the brain child of council president, Debbie MacLeod.

Triple D Night works like this. Singles, 19+, can visit the website https://ddd.marion-bridge. ca. Once there, you will be guided through a three-step process.

Step 1: Fill out the questionnaire. It is a series of 23 questions designed to help the organizing committee match you to the most suitable person.

Step 2: As soon as the committee finds a match for you, they will send you an email providing a link to pay the registration fee of $45, which includes a multi-course meal, drink of your choice and dance.

Step 3: Finally, be open to enjoy this unique experience.

As Debbie explains, “We were brainstorming different fundraising ideas and this came up. It is a little different than just meeting people on the internet.”

“We are hoping to attract men and women from 19 to those more seasoned,” says Debbie. “In order to have the best experience, participants are encouraged to be truthful when filling out the questionnaire and who knows, they just may find “The One.”

Deadline for Triple D Night submissions is Sunday, July 7. For more information, contact Debbie at 902371-1381 or email debbiecus2001@ yahoo.com.

A big shout must be given to the members of the Albert Bridge Volunteer Fire Department who participated in the annual Muscular Dystrophy Association “Boot Drive.” In under four hours, members were able to raise $900 while having stations set up at Mullins Rite Stop and Mira Ferry Market.

Fire Chief Mike Hilliard, would like to thank everyone who volunteered and donated to make the day such a success.
