Age 77 years of Ottawa Brook, Victoria Co. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mother, Mary in the Victoria County Memorial Hospital, Baddeck, on Tuesday, May 5, 2020. Born in Benacadie, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Theresa “Tootsie” (MacNeil) Fraser. She leaves to mourn her children, Michelle (Ray), Marlene (Gary), James (Kelly), Charlene (Robert), Tanya (John Lewis); grandchildren, Michael, Kyle, Michael, Allison and Marin; greatgrandchildren, Brody, Brayden, Cassie, Maggie and Johnathan; many aunts, who were like sisters; uncles, in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and godchildren. Besides her parents, she was predeceased, by her husband, Michael ‘Angus’, and numerous extended family members. Mary was a member of St. Columba Roman Catholic Church, Iona. She had many jobs over the years but finished her career as a pastry chef at Highland Heights, Iona. Where she was well known for her amazing homemade bread, oatcakes and pies. She loved music, and her fiddle tunes, a good square dance, playing cards, watching “The Wheel” and a good strong cup of King Cole tea. She loved animals, especially “her boys” Cale and Cole. But most of all she loved her family. In keeping with Mary’s wishes cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation, a graveside service will be held at a later date.
