TIGHE, Emily Madonna ‘Donna’ New Victoria

-

We, the family of Emily Madonna ‘Donna’ Tighe, sadly announce the passing of our beloved mother, sister and friend at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, ICU after a lengthy battle with heart and lung disease on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at the age of 66 years old. Donna was born and raised in New Waterford, NS to the late Jackie and Becky (Laffin) Tighe. Donna is survived by her children and best friends, Jackie, Shaunna and Matthew (Sarah) Tighe and her grandchildren whom she adored, Aiden and Ellie; siblings, Peter, Wayne (Selena), and Tommy Tighe all residing in New Waterford. Also, many nephews, nieces and cousins. Donna was predeceased by brothers, Patty, Terry, Chrissie and sister, Diane Maceachern (Tighe). Donna was known for her zest for life and took great pleasure in the simple things. She had a very giving, kind but stubborn nature who always put others ahead of her own needs. She could put a smile on anyone’s face with her hilarious sense of humor, no matter the circumstances. She was a fabulous cook and took great pleasure in knowing how much we looked forward to the huge Suppers. She loved animals and the natural beauty of nature. Our hearts will carry you with us everywhere we go. We will smile knowing you are in the arms of your loved ones, once again. The family would like to thank the team at the ICU for taking great care of our mother and her family doctor, Dr. Azer. We appreciate all that you have done. Cremation has taken place under the care and guidance of V.J. Mcgillivray Funeral Home, New Waterford. A graveside service will be held at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, New Victoria, Wednesday, July 22, at 11:30 a.m. with Father Ray Huntley officiating. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to the Canadian Lung Association or charity of one’s choice. Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at: www.vjmcgillivray.ca.
