DENNY, Simon RJ Eskasoni, NS

-

On route to follow his welding career out west, Simon Richard Joseph Denny age 34 of Eskasoni, began his journey into the spirit world on July 11th, 2020. Born April 18th, 1986 he is the beloved son of Cheryl Denny and Winston Patles. Simon, a free spirit who loved adventure, camping, hiking, fishing and hunting will be most remembered for his kind loving humble personality. He loved his family and often told each and every single one how much he did. Simon is so much loved here as he is in heaven. We know he is with our predeceased loved ones, his grand parents the late Gordon and Florence Patles (Eskasoni), grand father Richard Joseph Denny (Eskasoni), foster mother Sharon Lafford (Eskasoni) and his two angels Freya Denny and Elijah Denny (Allison). He is survived by his parents Cheryl Denny, and Winston Patles (Elizabeth), his foster father John Henry Lafford, his grandparents Elmer and June Lewis, his girlfriend Allison Francis, his treasured children Sheairah, Tyrone and Xaiden, and his siblings: Fallon Laport (Richie), Peter Laport, Leim Joe (Desiree), Savanna Joe (Tyler), Reeve Denny (Kitana), Alexander Denny aka Sonny Boy, Suzanne Patles, Garrett Patles, Desiree Patles (Manny), foster siblings: Tashia Lafford (Jared), Tammy Lafford (Lowell), Helen Lafford (Brandon), Annie Marie Lafford, Mary Susan Lafford (Eddy), Ekkian Lafford, Ben Lafford, all his aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces, godparents Pauline Marshall and Harry Lafford and his one and only godson John Henry Lafford. Build Me a Son, O Lord. Build me a son, O Lord, who will be strong enough to know when he is weak, and brave enough to face himself when he is afraid; one who will be proud and unbending in honest defeat, and humble and gentle in victory. Build me a son whose wishbone will not be where his backbone should be; a son who will know Thee and that to know himself is the foundation stone of knowledge. Lead him, I pray, not in the path of ease and comfort, but under the stress and spur of difficulties and challenge. Here let him learn to stand up in the storm; here let him learn compassion for those who fail. Build me a son whose heart will be clean, whose goal will be high; a son who will master himself before he seeks to master other men; one who will learn to laugh, yet never forget how to weep; one who will reach into the future, yet never forget the past. And after all these things are his, add, I pray, enough of a sense of humor, so that he may always be serious, yet never take himself too seriously. Give him humility, so that he may always remember the simplicity of greatness, the open mind of true wisdom, the meekness of true strength. Then I, his father, will dare to whisper, “I have not lived in vain.” (General Douglas MacArthur). Visitation will be held at 2 Canal Drive, Eskasoni starting at 7pm on Tuesday, July 21, 2020. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, July 23, 2020 at Holy Family Parish, Eskasoni at 10:30am with Fr. Antolin Asori officiating.
