CARD OF THANKS Joseph Matheson

We, the family of the late Joseph “SUGAR FOX”, wish to express our sincere and heartfelt appreciation to all who gave us support and comfort during Joes illness and final passing. Covid prevented our children Michael and Sherry, and our grandchildren, Jaret and Emily, from being here with us. Joe loved them dearly and understood albeit so unfair for them. They had to grieve from afar but were in touch with us daily. They carry in their hearts a wonderful legacy of love and strength from Joe. So many thanks, so many shared tears, it is hard to know where to begin. Our wonderful special, kind, caring, Dr. Ritcey. You were with us throughout Joe’s journey with compassion and wisdom. I thank you for all your expertise and knowledge and actions in establishing the wonderful home care Joe required. The Palliative Care team headed by nurse Mary Ruth Joseph, were invaluable. Their measures were meted out with so much care and compassion thus making it possible for Joe to be home with me. We could not have weathered the storm of illness and departure without the seamless attendance and care of the VON team. Their unending care of Joe, I will never forget and I can’t thank them enough. Paul, Joes final hours were met with care and dignity. You helped me through it and I will be forever grateful. Our best friends in life, Chuck and Linda, were with us through Joes entire journey. Joe and Chuck met 50 years ago, Linda and I 48 years. Not many people can meet and bond and see and experience a friendship from inception to the very end end of ones life. Joe loved you both as do I. Thank you my friends. There are so many friends who sent delicious meals, called , sent cards, who cared! Covid prevented us from the hugs and being together. Hoping we can all get together to salute Joe in fine style when the rules of covid have eased and we can all be safe in our reunion of tribute to Joe.
