MACDONALD, “Sandy” Alexander Allan

-

There are no words to express the immense sadness we feel for the tragic loss of Sandy on Thursday, October 1, 2020. He was a loving husband, dedicated father and proud new Grampie. Sandy was born in Sydney, NS on September 20, 1967, to Walter and Alexis MacDonald. Sandy met the love of his life, Janice (Farmer) the summer of 1982 at Ben Eoin Beach Campground. They married on October 8, 1988, and together, they raised two amazing children, Mitchell and Jillian (Lance). They welcomed their first grandchild, Ella MacKenzie Poirier, on July 20, 2020. Sandy and Janice spent their family time doing what they truly loved, camping with their family at numerous spots throughout our beautiful province. They settled in Ben Eoin as seasonal campers 15 years ago, where they enjoyed campfires, time with friends and, most recently, sleepovers with sweet Ella. For the past seven years, Sandy was employed with Zutphen Resources. Prior to that, at Malcolm S. MacDonald Co Ltd. Sandy took great pride in his work, had skills like no other and was a dedicated employee. Besides his parents, wife, children and granddaughter, Sandy is survived by his brother, Stirty (Cindy); sister, Dale; in-laws, Earl (Bud) and Carol Farmer, Deanna (Brent) Severeyns, Lori ( Jimmy) MacDonald and Lisa Farmer Soper; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Alex and Geraldine Smith and paternal grandparents, Malcolm S. and Shirley MacDonald. A casual Outdoor Open House will take place Saturday, October 10th between 2-4 p.m. at Ben Eoin Beach RV Resort & Campground, Ben Eoin. Due to COVID, we will respect social distancing and masks must be worn when that is not possible. In lieu of flowers, an education fund has been established for Janice and Sandy’s granddaughter and future grandchildren. Please contact Janice’s sister, Deanna Severeyns at dsevereyns@gmail.com should you wish to make contributions to the fund. Words of comfort can be sent to the family at www. sydneymemorialchapel. ca or e-mail sydneymemorialchapel@ns.sympatico.ca. Sandy will always be remembered as a kind and gentle man. He will live in our hearts forever.
