SMITH, Paul Anthony Sydney

We, the family of Paul Anthony Smith, regret to announce his passing on Saturday, October 3, 2020. Born March 10, 1958, in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Alexander and Geraldine Smith. For over 20 years, Paul worked in constructi­on with MS MacDonald before become a meat cutter for Sobeys. He was an avid Blue Jays fan and loved fishing, especially poaching lobster. Paul had a great sense of humour and enjoyed spending time with his coffee buddies, Dave, Musky and Tommy. Family, especially his grandchild­ren meant the most to him and they will miss him dearly. He is survived by his wife, Juanita Collier; son, Chris (Caroline) Campbell, Lower Sackville; stepdaught­er, Bobbie Jo (Ryan) Collier-Beaton, Sydney; stepson, Michael (Candice) Collier, Little Anse; grandchild­ren, Abigail, Rory, Mackinley, Gavin, Keiren, Allannah, Lila, Rylynn, Marley and Landon, his special buddy; sister, Alexis (Walter) MacDonald; brother, Gerald (Bev); and many nieces and nephews. Paul is also survived by his dogs, Rusti, Shamus, Magic “Buggers” and Jade. Besides his parents, he was predecease­d by his sisters, Louise Erskine and Patricia Smith and brother, Allan “Unkie” Smith. Visitation will be held at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Friday, October 9 from 10-11 a.m., followed by a service in the chapel at 11 a.m., with Cpt. Corey Vincent officiatin­g. Interment will take place at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.
