It is with sadness, that we the family announce the passing of Ann Marie MacDonald, age 74 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney on Thu r s - day, October 22nd, 2020. Born in Glace Bay, Ann Marie was a long time resident of Reserve Mines. She was the daughter of the late Wilbur and Mary Catherine “Ca” (MacEachern) MacDonald. Ann Marie was a resident of Taigh Na Mara Nursing Home for the last few years. In her younger days, she was employed at Bell Canada in Toronto. She loved singing, laughing and was also known as a “Dare Devil”, she was full of life. She is survived by her daughters, Lee MacNeil, Glace Bay, Michelle Krystal, Ontario, son, Derrick (Dorothy), Lower Sackville and one brother, Kevin Hennessey (Lonie), North Sydney. Also surviving are 8 grandchild­ren, Kevin, Christophe­r “Her special buddy”, Michael, Teresa, Adam, Kaylee, Andrew, Erin, 5 great grandchild­ren and nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Ann Marie was predecease­d by her partner of many years, Edmund Christmas of Membertou. There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 27th, 2020 at 11 am in V.J. McGillivra­y Funeral Home Chapel, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay with Fr. Dan Boudreau officiatin­g. Memorial donations in memory of Ann Marie may be made to your local S.P.C.A.
