Premier Stephen McNeil said in a news release that Nova Scotia is “closely monitoring” the increase in cases in neighbouring New Brunswick. Over the past two days, New Brunswick has seen consecutive record-breaking jumps in cases. The province reported 27 new cases on Tuesday, and 31 cases on Wednesday.
“The situation there is a reminder of how quickly the virus can spread, and also reminds us of the importance of following all the public health protocols,” said McNeil.
Nova Scotia has 28 known active cases as of Wednesday, with no one in hospital.
“As we continue to see new
COVID-19 cases every day, it is apparent that the virus is still in our communities,” said Dr. Robert Strang, Nova Scotia’s chief medical officer of health, in the news release.
“We must remain vigilant and do our part by continuing to follow public health guidelines and orders.”
Nova Scotia Health Authority’s labs completed 1,467 Nova Scotia tests on Wednesday.
Since Oct. 1, Nova Scotia has completed 122,652 COVID-19 tests. There have been 435 positive COVID-19 cases and no deaths.
