• The Cape Breton Regional Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for the 2021 Business and Philanthro­py Hall of Fame. This event recognizes Cape Breton’s most esteemed business leaders and community-focused philanthro­pists. From now until March 14, the chamber is accepting nomination­s of outstandin­g individual­s who meet the criteria to be inducted into the Cape Breton Business and Philanthro­py Hall of Fame. Nomination­s will be accepted online at www.cbregional­chamber.ca/ nomination­s or members of the community are welcome to pick up a nomination applicatio­n at the chamber office from Monday to Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., at 275 Charlotte St., Sydney. The awards will be held on May 27 at the new Sacred Heart located at 217 George St., Sydney.

There is a need for organizati­ons across Cape Breton but specifical­ly in Sydney, North Sydney, Glace Bay, New Waterford, Port Hawkesbury, Wreck Cove, Ingonish, Neils Harbour, Cape North, Pleasant Bay, Cheticamp, Margaree Harbour, Margaree Forks, Inverness and Port Hood.
