MEDYNSKI, (Bartlett) Margaret A. “Margie” Age 93 of Halifax/sydney

-

With great sorrow we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt who died peacefully early Tuesday morning, March 2, 2021 in the QEII Halifax Infirmary. Mum was born in Truro on Dec. 8, 1927 to the late David and Margaret (Brison) Bartlett. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Lou and brothers, Gordon, Viril, Ray and David and sister, Florence. She is survived by her children, Debbie, Albert (Bink) (Brenda); grandchildren, Susan Medynski (Ken Lawrence) and Paul Medynski (Joline) and her greatgrandchildren, Mark, Abby and Clare (Lawrence) and Lily and Jude (Medynski). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mum grew up in Truro where she met Dad when he was playing hockey. They later moved to Sydney and lived there for close to 50 years. They moved to Halifax in 2000 to be closer to family. They had a “ton” of friends in Sydney and it was difficult to leave their friends and neighbours. While in Sydney, Mum helped Dad as they volunteered with the CNIB and the Meals on Wheels program. She also enjoyed the many friendships she made while working at Woolco. Mum adored her family, especially her grandchildren and later her great-grandchildren. They will certainly miss “Grammy Marg.” Mum was very grateful for the many new friends she and Dad made at “The Woodbury.” Arrangements and cremation have been entrusted to J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax. Due to public health restrictions, there will be no visitation or funeral at this time. A service will be held in Sydney at a later date. Donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Online condolences may be made by visiting: www.jasnowfuneralhome.com.

To allow us to focus on reporting the news, some aspects of our paper are purchased from other sources, such as our horoscopes, and are put together a few weeks in advance. Some of the comments in the horoscopes may include suggestions that contradict current health advice to socially distance yourself or self-quarantine. This is because the horoscope predictions were made prior to these health decisions.
