MACLEOD, Donna Marie Glace Bay/niagara Falls

Peacefully, after a short illness, Donna passed away on Sunday, March 14, 2021, at the Greater Niagara General Hospital at the age of 68. Beloved mother of Allison Macleod and Melanie (Ryan) O’connor and cherished Nana of Cameron; dear sister of Thomas (Sheryl) Chauder and aunt to Steven. Donna is also survived by aunts, Betsy Egan Macmullen and Yvonne Egan (Lonnie) Dowe; sisters-in-law, Ann, Bridget and Maryk. Macleod; and many cousins and friends in Cape Breton. Donna was predeceased by her parents, Mary (Egan) and John Chauder of Glace Bay. As we remember Donna, friends and family know that her greatest pleasure was travelling. Anywhere there was a beach, an ocean and sunshine she was in her element finding her most enjoyment there. Donna had a great sense of humour and enjoyed spending time with her family and getting together with her friends. Her gracious nature, hospitality, warm heart and winning smile will always be a part of our remembrances of Donna. A special thank you to Debbie Rowe, Sheryl Chauder and Allan Macleod for the love and support they gave to our mom and family. “Lots of hugs from mom and us.” Also, a special thank you to the hospital staff at the Greater Niagara General Hospital for their compassionate care. In accordance with Donna’s wishes cremation has taken place and arrangements entrusted with Essentials Cremation and Burial Services, Niagara Falls. An internment will be held in the Springtime, in the family plot at Fairview Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Donna’s memory may be given to the Cape Breton Cancer Society.
