It is with great sorrow that we the family announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, mémère, sister, aunt and friend Heather Anne LeBlanc, age 72. She passed away peacefully on April 12, 2021 at the Sacred Heart Community Health Centre, Cheticamp, surrounded by her loving family after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Born on July 28, 1948 in Sydney, NS, she was the daughter of the late Alex and Cecilia (Gillis) MacIsaac. Heather is survived by her husband, John LeBlanc and daughter, Sandra Webster, Stratford PEI. Her proudest achievemen­t in life was her family, and in particular her pride and joy her grandson, Samuel. She also leaves behind, her sister, Mary Eisenhauer (Colin Robart), Nictaux, NS and brother, Roger (Karen) MacIsaac, Amherst, NS; sisters-inlaw, Helen Chiasson, Mary (Norman) Doucet, and Rita LeBlanc all of Waltham, Mass. and many nephews, nieces and cousins who will all miss her dearly. She was predecease­d by her son-in-law, Steve Webster; brothers-in-law, Lloyd Eisenhauer, Clarence LeBlanc, Billy LeBlanc, Alex LeBlanc and Patrick LeBlanc; sisters-in-law, Anna Mae Aucoin and Margaret Richard. Heather graduated from St. Rita’s School of Nursing, Sydney in 1969 and devoted the next 50 years to her nursing profession. She moved to Chéticamp, in 1970 where she met the love of her life, John. She was his nurse while he was healing from a recent car accident. Here they built their life together and raised their daughter Sandra. Heather was a devoted nurse and always went above and beyond to help those in need. Sincere thanks to the nurses and staff at Sacred Heart Community Health Centre who looked after Heather these past few weeks. Special thanks to Dr. Amélie Maillet and Johanne Doucet. We would also like to thank our circle of friends and family who provided support and comfort these past few weeks. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 16, 2021, from 6-9 p.m. at the Chéticamp Funeral Home. Masks and social distancing are required. A Funeral Mass, by invitation only, will be celebrated on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at Église St. Pierre, Chéticamp with Father MacDonald Ibeh officiatin­g.
