DOUCETTE, Darlene Elizabeth

-

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved sister, Darlene Elizabeth Doucette, on Friday May 7, 2021 after a short battle with cancer. She will always be in our minds, and forever in our hearts. Born on July 15, 1957, Darlene was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Burton) Doucette of Ingonish, Nova Scotia. Darlene was a very quiet, gentle soul, who loved her family dearly. She was full of kindness and humor. Darlene worked most of her life at the Whitney Pier Day Care, looking after the children and babies of the community. She loved each and every one as her own. Darlene is survived by her special friend of 40+ years, Doug Skinner; along with her brothers, Ed Doucette (Charlene), Frank Doucette (Barbara) and Fred Doucette (Lolit). Darlene is also survived by her sisters, Debbie MacKinnon and Margie (Lloyd) Snow. She loved her nieces and nephews very much as well; Crystal Mackinnon, Angie Doucette, Mandy Doucette, Jordan Doucette and Mitchell Doucette. Darlene was predeceased by her parents, her loving sister, Rosemary in 2020 along with Franz and Albert in their infancy. We the family would like to take the time to thank the doctors and the staff of the Palliative Care Unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital for all the compassionate care that Darlene received in her time of need. Donations in memory of Darlene may be made to the Palliative Patient Care Centre at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Due to Covid restrictions, a funeral service will be held at a later date. Memories and condolences can be shared at twcurry.com.
