SYDNEY — A Sydney River liquor store joins the list of three new potential COVID19 exposure sites in the Cape Breton Regional Municipality.

A Nova Scotia Health advisory issued late Saturday reported a possible exposure at the NSLC, Keltic Plaza, 65 Keltic Dr., Sydney River which occurred on May 27 between 3:15 and 4:30 p.m. Anyone who visited this location during that specific date and time may likely develop symptoms up to and including June 10.

Public health also identified additional exposures at:

• Walmart, 80 Sydney Port Access Rd. on May 22, between 6:15 a.m. and 4 p.m. Symptoms may develop up to and including June 5.

• Walmart, Keltic Plaza, Sydney River on May 27, from 3:30-5 p.m. Symptoms may develop up to and including June 10.

Individuals who were at these locations during these specific dates and times are asked to get a COVID-19 test even if the individual does not have symptoms. Individuals do not need to self-isolate while waiting for test results, Nova Scotia Health said.

But if symptoms do occur, the individual involved and the other members of their household are required to self-isolate while awaiting tests results.

Meanwhile, more mobile testing units are heading to the CBRM this week.

Today from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., a mobile clinic will be set up at the New Waterford Knights of Columbus, 3236 Plummer Ave., according to Nova Scotia Health. As well, there will be additional testing days at the Northside General Hospital primary assessment centre at 520 Purves St. in North Sydney. Testing at this location is available by appointment only from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., seven days a week, and can be booked online at covid-self-assessment.novascotia.ca/en.

In Sydney, testing is also available at the Grand Lake Road fire hall at 850 Grand Lake Rd. by appointment or drop-in, seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

There is also a rapid testing pop-up site at Centre 200 at 481 George St., Sydney. Tests here are drop-in only and run from 3-7 p.m., Monday-Friday, and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
