Plea date assigned on multiple offences

SYDNEY — A plea date has been set for a Glace Bay facing multiple offences including robbery.

Jarrot Bradley Currie, 29, of Seventh Street faces a host of offences including those associated with the robbery of a taxi driver and a break-in at a convenienc­e store.

Currie is charged with break and enter, mischief (property damage) and two counts of breach in connection with a break-in April 21 at a convenienc­e store on West Avenue in Glace Bay.

Also on that date, he is charged with robbery (while armed with a knife), assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, mischief (cutting the radio cord in a taxi), wearing a mask in committing an offence and two counts of breaching court orders, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, wearing a disguise, break and enter, and numerous breaches of courtorder­ed conditions.

The offences relate to a holdup of a Bud’s Taxi driver who was not injured.

He is also charged with four counts of assault (relating to the same individual) four counts of breaching court orders, two counts of assault with a weapon (a syringe and a bong), three counts of uttering threats, two counts of mischief relating to property damage and a single count of forcible confinemen­t.

The offences are alleged to have occurred April 19 in Glace Bay.

Currie also faces an additional 12 counts of breaching court orders along with two counts of mischief, and single counts of assault and possession of stolen property.

Currie, who has consented to a further remand, is now scheduled to enter pleas to the charges June 9.
