Two court dates assigned

SYDNEY — A Cape Breton man arrested this week on outstandin­g warrants in Halifax has now been assigned two provincial court plea dates.

Stanley Whyte, 39, of Little Pond, Cape Breton Regional Municipali­ty, appeared Thursday in Sydney provincial court via video from the Central Nova Scotia Correction­al Facility in Burnside. He was arrested earlier in the week in Halifax.

Whyte, who continues to be on remand, is now scheduled to appear in Port Hawkesbury provincial court June 21 to enter pleas on 21 counts of breaching court orders, two counts of break and enter and single counts of sexual assault, unlawful confinemen­t, uttering a threat, assault, and possession of stolen property (a television and laptop).

The offences are alleged to have occurred between January and April in Louisdale, Arichat and Port Hawkesbury.

He is also scheduled to appear in Sydney provincial court June 24 to enter pleas on 13 counts of breaching court orders, two counts of theft and a single count of possession of stolen property.

Those offences are alleged to have occurred between April and September 2019 in Sydney, North Sydney and Point Aconi.
