MOORE, Dr. Kirby W.

-

With profound sadness, the family announces the passing of Kirby Moore on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, following a brief, sudden illness. He was predeceased by his parents, Catherine and Gus Moore and brother, John Sheldon. Kirby is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Elizabeth (Macdonald); sisters, Iris Baryluk (Richard) and Gayle Strasser (John); and nephews, Andrew, Kirby and Richie. He had a great relationship with his in-laws. They include his mother-inlaw, Muriel Macdonald, David Macdonald (Lucye), Sandy Boutilier, Jan (Macdonald) Mcadam (Murray), Michael Macdonald (Lana), Marnie Macdonald and numerous nephews and nieces. He was also predeceased by his sister-in-law, Lynda Macdonald. Kirby graduated from Dalhousie Dental School. His early journey was always remembered fondly as a smart kid torn daily between bending his mind around many physics problems with his brother-in-law, John, but only during the ad breaks of the Six Million Dollar Man. He enjoyed cooking, gardening, camping with Liz and playing the fiddle with the Feisty Fiddlers and the Cape Breton Fiddlers Association. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date when Covid-19 restrictions allow. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Sydney Memorial Chapel. Memorial donations may be made to the Cape Breton Fiddlers Association or to a charity of your choice. Special thanks to the staff at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Emergency Department and ICU who were so good to us. Words of comfort can be sent to the family at www.sydneymemorialchapel.ca or e-mail sydneymemorialchapel@ns.sympatico.ca.

"If you saw him walking towards your bonfire, you asked yourself what humourous nuance will he give to any subject under the Sun. In this way, he changed every room he was in".
