Project aims to reduce greenhouse gasses

ANTIGONISH — More environmentally friendly transportation options will soon be coming to Antigonish.

Nearly two kilometres of new multi-use pathways and bridges will be built to make the municipality more accessible and to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

The provincial government announced almost $4 million in funding for the projects coming from all three levels of government.

Ottawa is investing around $1.6 million, the province is giving $1.3 million and the Town of Antigonish is kicking in the remaining $1 million.
