METCALFE, William (Bill) “Hubba”

We the family of William (Bill) “Hubba” Metcalfe are broken hearted to announce the sudden passing on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at his home. Born in Glace Bay, Bill was the son of the late Thomas and Euphemia (Woodman) Metcalfe. Bill was always the centre of the party and had a heart of gold and was loved by all who knew him. For many years Bill worked with his best friend Henry Oglivie collecting garbage, something he loved to do. Family and friends were everything to Bill, he enjoyed spending many hours with them, most importantl­y Jimmy and June Hannon. He loved his morning trips to Tim Hortons for his coffee and chatting with the morning crew at the Sterling Mall. Left to mourn Bill’s passing are his “special” nieces, Shauna (Ron), and Lori, and their families; nephew and godson, Kevin (Tammy) and family; special sister-in-law, Eileen Currie; as well as many other nieces, and nephews; sisters, and brothers-in-law; brother, Kevin Metcalfe, Hamilton, Ont.; and foster brother, Alfie Hart (Dot), Glace Bay; sisters, Debbie Klien, and Tina Lynk (Jim), both of Hamilton, Ont. Along with his parents, Bill is predecease­d by his foster parents, David and Leanna Hart; six brothers; a sister; a foster sister; and a sibling in infancy. Arrangemen­ts have been entrusted to the care and compassion of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialist­s, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, N.S. (902)849-4199. At Bill’s request there will be no visitation. A Funeral Service for family and friends of Bill will be held on Wednesday, June 15, at 2 p.m., with Fr.
