PICCOTT , Glen

-

It is with great sadness and heartbreak that we announce that Glen passed away at home suddenly on April 15, 2024. Glen had a huge heart and loved his family beyond words. Glen enjoyed playing hockey, first with minor hockey and then North Sydney Jr. Franklins as well as one season with the Dominion Junior Cee Bees. He fondly recalled his memories with “the Boys” playing hockey with the gentlemen’s hockey league, (the Oland’s and Rollies Wharf Rats). Glen loved his friends and time with them was important. Hewas the best partner, friend and father and we will miss him greatly. Glen was employed by Source Atlantic for the past two years as an account manager. He previously was employed at Seaboard Industrial for many years in industrial sales. He also had his own small business called Garson Safety consulting (named after his dad) for the past couple years. He enjoyed life to the fullest every day and was always up for listening to great music and having a game of golf with his friends and family. Glen was predeceased by his parents, Garfield and Roseanna (Dewland) Piccott. He will be lovingly remembered by his partner and best friend, Debbie Glogowski Macmillan; his daughter, Sara MacNeil (Jack) Sydney Mines; his two grandchildren, Libby Rose and Oliver MacNeil. He also leaves behind his sisters, Queena (Wally) Newlan, Sharon (Samuel) Skinner, Rosemarie (Ronald) Ross, Carrie Lynn Wall (Granville); brothers, Gary (Diane) and Jobie (Nancy); also, Sara’s mother, Cheryl Piccott; and many nieces and nephews. A visitation for Glen will be held from 7-9 p.m. on Friday, April 19, at W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney. There will be a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Saturday in the Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jackie Warren officiating. A Celebration of Life will follow the Chapel service at the Northern Yacht Club, Seaview Drive, North Sydney. Donations in Glen’s memory may be made to the Kevin “Dash” Cashin annual memorial Golf tournament, as he organized this every year and it was close to his heart.
