The family of Edna Mailman regret to a nnounce her passing on Sunday, May 1 9, 2 024, at t he Cove Guest Home in Sydney. Born on August 1, 1935, in Seabright, Edna was the daughter of the late Marshall Melvin and Margaret Mary (Bush) Z wicker. E dna worked at t he fish p lant and took c are of t he elderly. S he volunteere­d at b oth nursing homes and private homes taking care o f seniors. She enjoyed fishing of a ny k ind and stopping for ice cream whenever possible. Edna lived in Halifax in her younger years and met her husband there. T hey moved to MainA-Dieu a fter their marriage. Edna is survived by her sons, Kevin (Nancy) and Ellsworth (Sheri); grandkids, Amanda, Crystal, Kevin, Amber, Robyn, L ukas, Mitchell, and Jesse; sister-in-law, Shirley; several great-grandchild­ren; and many nieces a nd nephews. Besides h er parents, Edna was predecease­d by her husband, Harvey Charles Mailman; brothers, Harold a nd Melvin (Barbara); and daughter, Heather. The family would like to t hank the staff a t the Cove G uest Home for the care o f Edna in her time of n eed and to her daughter-in-law, for your assistance over the past few years. Visitation and memorial service to c elebrate t he life of Edna Mailman will be held a t Pier Community Funeral Home, 1092 V ictoria Rd. (entrance on Church St.), Whitney Pier on Sunday, May 26, 2024. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 1-2 p.m. with the memorial service to follow at 2 p.m. in the All Faith Chapel w ith Rev. S heldon Chant officiatin­g. Interment will take place in Loch End Cemetery, Catalone. Donations in memory of Edna may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
