Drake's mansion at centre of shooting investigation: Toronto police source

-

Canadian rap star Drake's mega-mansion is at the centre of an investigation into a shooting that left a man badly injured, a police source told CBC Toronto.

The entrance to the sprawling property on Park Lane Circle in the ritzy Bridle Path neighbourhood was taped off by officers early Tuesday. There was a heavy police presence in the area throughout the morning.

A member of Toronto police's Integrated Gun and Gang Task Force is ex‐ pected to provide an up‐ date into the investigation around 11:30 a.m. ET. CBC Toronto will carry it live in this story.

The shooting happened around 2:10 a.m., police said in a brief post on X, formerly Twitter. The general location provided by police was the nearby corner of Bayview and Lawrence avenues.

Police haven't com‐ mented further on the case at this point.

However, a police source said early details from the initial call suggest the victim was a security guard at the home who appears to have been shot in a drive-by at‐ tack.

He suffered a gunshot wound to the upper chest and was unconscious when officers arrived, according to the initial report.

The victim was taken to hospital via emergency run, where he underwent surgery.

Images of the rapper's palatial 50,000-square-foot home are frequently shared online, often by Drake him‐ self.

Drake is currently em‐ broiled in a number of highprofile feuds with other rap‐ pers and musical artists. The most notable is an ongoing dispute with the California rapper Kendrick Lamar, which hit a fever pitch this week as both released multi‐ ple tracks that levelled un‐ substantiated allegations and insults at each other.
