Gaelic Immersion School

An independent Gaelic immersion school is set to open in Mabou, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia this coming September. With the support of the Gaelic Council of Nova Scotia, the Gaelic College and other stakeholders, a group of parents and community members have worked to make the school a reality. According to a press release, Taigh Sgoile na Drochaide will initially open with a cohort of Grade Primary students this year, adding a grade each successive year, building to a P-4 school within five years. It will be the first Gaelic immersion school in North America.
