LGBTQ+ Friendly Wales
The Welsh Government has taken steps towards inclusion by providing training on LGBTQ+ language and history for its museum, archive, and library staff. The initial training sessions took place through December and January, ahead of the United Kingdom's LGBT History Month. This was part of an action plan funded by the Welsh Government, led by Laila El-Metoui and Norena Shopland. In June last year, Welsh Deputy Minister for Social Partnership Hannah Blythyn announced a Wales-wide Pride Fund to support grassroots Pride events across the country, among other initiatives. The hope is to make Wales the most LGBTQ+ friendly nation in Europe.
