Set amidst the natural beauty of South Carolina's Midlands region, Tartan Day South honors the region's robust Celtic heritage, highlighting the ancient traditions of Ireland, Scotland, Wales, and more. This year, guests are invited to enjoy live musical performances, drum and pipe bands, traditional dancing, Highland Games events, a British car show, a sheepdog herding exhibit, swordplay exhibitions, ax throwing, archery tag, clan and society tents, genealogy lectures, and more. An array of food will be available for hungry visitors, and a Celtic marketplace will showcase fabrics, jewelry, ironware, and other cultural items. In addition, the annual four-day gathering will benefit the non-profit River Alliance, which strives to connect people to the area's rivers (Broad, Saluda, and Congaree), while ensuring that these waterways are properly protected and preserved.
