Wordle to the Wise

The word puzzle app known as “Wordle” has taken the world - and social media - by storm. What some fans may not know, however, is that the game is the brainchild of a man from a small Welsh village. Josh Wardle, a software engineer who now lives in Brooklyn, once called Llanddewi Rhydderch his home. Wardle came up with Wordle during the pandemic lockdown, to bring his partner some joy while staying home. Little did he know it would “go viral.” Recently, the New York Times bought the rights to the game.
