Garrett County Celtic Festival
The 34th Garrett County Celtic Festival welcomes you to the beautiful highlands of Appalachian Maryland. Awash in living history, Clan representation, field exhibits, and Chautauqua-style presentations on Scots, Irish, and Welsh heritage in Western Maryland, the annual gathering showcases Highland Games, pipes and drums, four stages of musicians and dancers, and wholesome family entertainment with all-day activities for all ages. New in 2022 are workshops (for those aged 12-22) in music and dance performance, writing and character presentation, living history and volunteerism. Local authors will chat with aspiring writers and discuss their work, and all types of instruments and ensemble playing are explored. Dance instruction will cover Irish, Scottish country, and clogging, and volunteer opportunities are available to help with costuming, theater, face painting, making fairie gardens, storytelling, and art activities. Guests are welcome to enjoy outstanding food and drink, cruise the vendor's area, and take a scenic stroll along the nearby Yough River for an inspiring day along the Celtic way!
