Dayton Celtic Festival
The Dayton Celtic Festival returns this summer for another three-day celebration of culture and history. Presented by United Irish of Dayton, in partnership with Five River Metro
Parks, this year's gathering will “saturate the senses” with Celtic culture, featuring three stages of entertainment showcasing musical acts and cultural exhibits. This year's headline performers include Gaelic Storm, Scythian, Socks in the Frying Pan, The Drowsy Lads, and more. Cultural demonstrations will include discussions with author Cindy Thompson and storyteller Cathy Jo Smith, among others. The event also plans to bring back many of its staple activities, such as the Celtic breakfast, whisky tastings, Sunday Mass, Irish music lessons, food and vendor booths, and the Parade of Kilts. The festival will also host a Rainbow's End Children's area, where the wee ones can enjoy games, Celtic crafts, picture boards, and more. For those who can't wait, the Dayton Celtic Festival is holding a free “countdown concert” featuring music from Donegal's The Screaming Orphans on June 30 at the city's RiverScape Pavilion.
