Mooching off café wifi will only get you so far, so here’s a list of the city’s internet service providers. Bell and Vidéotron are the major players, but we’ve also cherry-picked some indie ISPs. Remember to scour the fine print for extra fees (installati­on etc).

This Quebec-based ISP promises to be “the first internet provider you will actually like.” Oxio offers six packages, the most cost-efficient of them priced at $ 40 (about $ 6.50 less than the market average) and locally based, friendly customer support. They also offer TV packages ranging from $25 to $ 55.
