Announcing the annual DL Designer of the Year Awards
When it comes to design – from tiny products to towering architecture – Toronto is killing it. It has been since long before I became Designlines’ editor about 10 years ago, and it has only picked up speed and gathered force since then. And so, when it came time to plan our
2019 editorial calendar, we decided to switch things up a bit: to celebrate the innovation and creative output of this city’s talent, and to honour efforts, share thinking and inspire the upcoming generation of designers with an awards issue.
The competition came together in just two weeks and, despite the lack of lead time, we were humbled by the quality of the submissions that came in – we’re looking at you, stalwarts and previous award winners, and at you, young trailblazers and social media darlings. Thank you all for rallying behind this effort to better bring together the design community – an effort and celebration that will only get bigger and better as we go forward, year after year. We hope to hear from many more of you next time around. Do watch for our call for entries to be announced in August, and best of luck to all who submit!
