What is your name? David Agnew What have you done for us lately? One of the great perks of being a copy editor is that even while I’m working, I get to learn about new subjects every day. Sometimes it’s architecture and design, and other times it’s forest management or blockchain, but there’s always something to appeal to my curiosity. If money were no object, what would you buy to cheer up your decor after a long winter? Hard to choose just one thing, but I’d really love one of local artist Zachari Logan’s Eunuch Tapestries – a series of massive pastelon-black-paper wall hangings packed with intricately detailed vegetation. It would be like having a picture window looking out onto my own private garden.

What is your name? Amrit Phull What have you done for us lately? The four urban gardens ( p. 47) I covered cleverly address unique qualities of their sites – as unique as derelict swimming pools and soda-pop factories. And each design has a painterly approach to planting that considers height, tone and seasons. What part of the city are you looking forward to revisiting when the snow melts and the flowers start to bloom? As soon as the temperature starts rising, I’ll be back at the waterfront with my bike. There are too many stopping points to mention, but I enjoy peeking into the Redpath refinery doors and catching a glimpse of the sugar mountain.

What is your name? Eric Mutrie What have you done for us lately? I toured Hariri Pontarini Architects’ model shop (p. 114). It was wild to peer inside their recognizable designs recreated at such a small scale – they would have made great homes for the Star Wars action figures I had as a kid. If money were no object, what would you buy to cheer up your decor after a long winter? I love the curves and texture of the glamorous Vuelta sofa that Jaime Hayon designed for Wittman. I’ve gotten called out lately for wearing a velour polo shirt too often, so a ($6,000+) velvet sofa is the natural next step.
