Tapestry of Spirit: The Torah Stitch by Stitch Project To Nov 17

This isn’t your grandma’s knitting circle: nearly 1,500 volunteers from 28 countries stitched their way through sections of the Bible and the Qur’an for this massive art and social project, resulting in the more than 1,000 panels on display at the Textile Museum of Canada.

Stitchers: Tapestry of Spirit, an award-winning documentar­y, plays throughout.

Hito Steyerl: This Is the Future Oct 24-Feb 23

German artist Hito Steyerl is an ace at combining digital and architectu­ral environmen­ts. Take her witty, large-scale installati­on Liquidity Inc. (2014), which tells the story of an American economic analyst turned mixed martial artist. The video is screened in a glowing, monitor-blue room complete with a pillow-strewn viewing ramp.
