Mason Studio designs a condo sales centre that’s a bit residential, a bit commercial and altogether fabulous

By definition, the sales centre for the Condominiums at Square One District in Mississauga isn’t anyone’s home, but it’s not just a retail space, either. Designed by Mason Studio, it approximates the look and feel of the new build’s lobby and residences – which it’s designing – teasing at-home familiarity in a commercial environment. It’s both an enticement and a preview, and it’s in accord with the studio’s approach to design: draw from multiple sectors, merge the best ideas and create something entirely new.

So instead of corporate greige, a texture-rich palette of oak veneer, white-veined marble and vinyl tile that’s a dead ringer for hardwood greets prospective buyers, while local designer Hollis+morris was tapped to reinforce its distinctiveness with custom lighting. The repeating curves – in and around the reception desk, in the sinuous millwork by VGA Carpentry – highlight features, soften the space and guide people through it. MASONSTUDIO.COM
