RIDING HIGH
DUAL PURPOSE DODGE FOR TOW AND SHOW
Jason Cade is no stranger to building high-performance diesels. He’s had quite a few compression-powered rides, almost all of them featuring modifications from lifts, to wheels and tires, to engine modifications. When it came to conceptualize his latest project, a ’15 Ram destined for the Las Vegas SEMA show, he didn’t want anything to come up short.
Cummins Inside
Cade didn’t want his Ram to be another pretty face that didn’t make any power, so his first stop was the engine. A set of ARP head studs were installed to keep the head gasket in one place because of Cade’s plan for compound turbos. The factory Holset turbo was retained; however, a larger 75mm S400 from Borgwarner now blows into it, creating an awesome 65 psi of boost. Airflow throughout the whole intake tract was improved as a matter of fact, with a GDP intake horn, Banks Power Techni-cooler, and Powertech Diesel intake complimenting the Hardway Performance turbo kit. The exhaust side also received improvements with a Flo-pro 5-inch turbo-back exhaust, and a 5-inch MAS Fabrication and Off-road Freedom Hex tip. Engine modifications were rounded out on the fuel side of things with a Titanium lift pump from FASS Diesel and six 90hp injectors from Dynomite
Diesel Performance.
Jacked Up
With an estimated 650 horsepower cranking out of the 6.7L Cummins engine and running through a Stage 2 68RFE transmission from Randy’s Diesel, Cade now needed a truck that would catch the eye of any onlooker. An 8-inch Mcgaughy’s Suspension lift was the first item that made its way onto the
