CARLI SUSPENSION’S 4.5 FORD IMPROVER KIT

THE PERFORMER

In the old days of the 1970s and ’80s, lifting a truck often meant just putting on taller and usually stiffer leaf springs. The result was a taller truck that was, at best, no better-riding than stock and often stiffer than stock.

The evolution of truck suspensions from the factory has evolved so that most trucks are smooth-riding and much nicer than even the cars of years past. Better still, these new suspension designs allow for aftermarket companies to improve on this base suspension and offer not only lift, but improved ride quality too. In regard to your truck’s suspension, you can now, metaphorically speaking, have your cake and eat it too.

When it comes to long-travel, great-ride upgrade kits, Carli Suspension is one of the premier aftermarket suspension companies. They shine in overall lift kit versatility, improving the on-road ride over stock and making the dream of off-roading a ¾- or 1-ton diesel rig a reality.

In fact, owner Sage Carli has a passion for desert racing and has both raced and built winning trucks for the dirt side of motorsports for years. Carli Suspension systems have been used in race trucks, chase trucks and hardcore prerunners. However, more are used on the street to smooth out the commute while looking cool and expanding weekend fun capability. This reserve capability is always there, but with no compromises in street ride. Rather, there are improvements to it instead.

This installation is on a Ford F-250 using a 2011up kit from Carli Suspension that provides the Ford diesel with 4.5 inches of lift on the front and 2.5 on the rear. The result is a vehicle that’s “leveled”!

The company calls it “testing”; we call it a weekend of fun in the dunes, and the wow factor is that it’s with a diesel truck.
