A seat on this Queen Street West patio is like scoring prime real estate. We sip a refreshing “power pack” smoothie of antioxidant fruit with yogurt, banana, kale and unsweetened almond milk that launches us into feel-good mode. What a great way to begin the morning! The menu rolls from breakfast to brunch to lunch and dinner, and all the bases are covered. Our Saltimbocca frittata is chock full of good flavour with prosciutto, sage, tomatoes and fontina in a basil hollandaise with arugula. Our Ocean omelet, packed with lobster and shrimp, transports us to the seaside. There are 12 enomatic wines available. Is it too early in the day? Ricotta pancakes with crisp edges are fluffy and light, and drizzled with limoncello syrup. I keep saying, “last bite, last bite” until I finish the whole heavenly plate. Panettone French toast, is like Christmas cake with mascarpone and citrus marmalade, and again, “last bite, OK; I mean it this time,” and one more plate down. Have you ever had a shrimp burger? How about on a pretzel bun? Accompanied by addictive Parmesan truffle frites, we love each bite. Owner Monika Vacca delights in her guests’ enjoyment as she tends to every need. We could go on about the grilled calamari and the papardelle with mushrooms in marsala wine. It is our destiny to dine here.
