U.K. copyright case vital

-

I was wondering why a U.K. judge ruling that certain image-processing techniques are protected by copyright is not front-page news. It turns the whole idea that copyright is only designed to protect the creative expression of ideas on its head.

The judge in that case seems to be saying people are not allowed to commission their own photographs if they don’t like the terms or cost associated with stock photography.

This can only discourage, rather than encourage, the creative expression of ideas.
