Raonic headlines in Davis Cup tie

Hard-serving Thornhill, Ont., native Milos Raonic will be at the forefront of Canada’s team heading into the upcoming Davis Cup tie against France.

Raonic will be joined by Niagara Falls, Ont.’s Frank Dancevic, Daniel Nestor of Toronto and Vancouver’s Vasek Pospisil on the squad nominated by captain Martin Laurendeau to compete against France in Vancouver from Feb. 10-12.

Thornhill’s Peter Polansky will also be travelling to Vancouver with the team as a fifth player.

The winning team moves on to the World Group quarter-finals. The losing nation will be forced to play a World Group playoff tie to keep their spot in the elite level for 2013.
