MAVKO, Eileen Mary

-

Eileen passed away peacefully on November 30, 2012. She was 86 years old, and had lived a full, rich, and tremendously caring life as a wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her family, cherished her faith, and touched everyone around her. Eileen was born on March 21, 1926 on a farm near Strome, Alberta to Karl and Mary Kapler. The only girl, she had five brothers. Three of her brothers have predeceased her: Oliver, Lloyd, and Urban Kapler. Two brothers survive: Vernon (Kelowna) and Marvin Kapler (Edmonton area). In 1958 she joined the Hudson Bay Company, where she met a very handsome young man, Peter Mavko. They married in 1960 and had four sons: Paul, Tim (Sharon-Marie), Robert, and Gregory Mavko. She devoted her life to their care. Her twin grandchildren, Karl and Marie, gave her great joy. Eileen and Peter remained together and very much in love until Peter's death in June of this year. They spent their final years happily together at the Youville Home in St. Albert. Their family thanks the caring staff and wonderful nuns at Youville for all their kindness and prayers. A Funeral Mass for Eileen will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 7, 2012 at St. Andrew’s Roman Catholic Church, 12810 - 111 Avenue N.W., Edmonton, AB. All are welcome. Eileen's family welcomes your cards and well wishes, but flowers or gifts are not necessary. Instead, donations in her memory to her favourite charities would be a loving tribute: Esk-Omi Missions Inc. P.O. Box 159, http://www.christiansourcebook.com/
