Introduce your children to the joys of gardening
Workshop teaches about food sources; exhibit explores the body in all its stages
KIDS GARDE N THYME
It’s officially planting season, so now’s the time to get your kids interested in gardening. A special workshop at a shop not far from downtown is designed to do exactly that, while teaching children where their food comes from.
The two-hour program at Dasee Floral Boutique, available for kids between the ages of six and 12, will help them learn about seeds, dirt and even worms as they work in a curated garden. Bonus: they’ll get to plant something special to take home to the family. When: Saturday, June 1, 10 a.m. to noon Where: Dasee Floral Boutique, 10441 123 St. Admission: $15. To register, phone 780-447-3325

It explores the body in all its stages, from childhood through to old age in various forms of health, presenting the human arc of life via more than 200 plastinates.
These human specimens were preserved through a remarkable process called Plastination, invented by pioneering anatomist Dr. Gunther von Hagens. When: Until Monday, Sept 2.
