Audreys Books and The Writers’ Guild of Alberta present Hosting Your Book Launch with Karen Spaford-Fitz on Monday at 7 p.m. Join children’s author Spafford-Fitz and learn what it takes to put together a successful, if not unique, book launch that will sell books while bringing in readers. The event takes place at Audreys Books, 10702 Jasper Ave., and is free for WGA members. For non-members, it’s a $5 donation at the door. Spafford-Fitz is the author of two middle-grade novels, Dog Walker and Vanish (Orca Book Publishers).

Two authors will read from their books at Audreys Books on Tuesday at 7 p.m. Meredith Quartermain will read from Rupert’s Land and Fran Kimmel from The Shore Girl. Kimmel’s book was the 2013 Alberta Readers’ Choice award winner. This is her first major reading in the Edmonton region. Quartermain is a B.C. Book Award-winning poet and publisher, and Rupert’s Land is her first novel.
