Mulcair is no also-ran

Re: “Opposition leaders rip Tories, each other,” Jan 24. Media help shape public opinion, so they should be sensitive to showing any bias.

I was gobsmacked to see official Opposition leader Thomas Mulcair treated as an “also-ran,” making no appearance until the second half of this article. The content suggested no compelling journalistic reason for giving priority to Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau. They spoke about similar issues.

If the Liberals were the official Opposition, I can’t imagine the Journal would have first reported the comments of the third-party leader.
