More teams to vie on Amazing Race
Which team will you be cheering for on The Amazing Race Canada? Here are three more teams announced for the upcoming second season, debuting July 8 on CTV. Team: Pierre and Michel Forget, 42, of Terrebonne, Que. Bio: The brothers, who work together in the family meat-packing business, share a twin bond and have been lifelong best friends. Possible Nicknames: Wonder Twins, Meat Men, Forget abboud it (Paper) Tigers or Dolls?: Both were competitive freestyle skiers (Pierre won the International Ski Federation Moguls World Cup title in 1994), so they know what it’s like to perform under pressure.
Being bilingual can’t hurt and their athletic backgrounds add to their competitiveness. Team: Ryan Steele, 36, and Rob Goddard, 24, of Vancouver. Bio: The two bartenders work the wood (not a euphemism) in Vancouver’s West End in addition to their side careers.
Ryan is a sketch comic who would like to make ’em laugh full time, while Rob, a former Mr. Gay Canada, is a personal trainer who would like to pump (hand clap, finger point) you up! Possible Nicknames: West End Boys, Team Lookin’ Good, Did You SEE His Abs? (Paper) Tigers or Dolls?: They have worked and travelled together, and both are in good shape.
Ryan has experience; Rob has youth. It adds up to a potent combination. Team: Laura Takahashi, 28, and Jackie Skinner, 31, of Toronto. Bio: The now-married couple met at camp 15 years ago and tied the knot last year following an elaborate proposal Jackie orchestrated while they were in Vietnam.
The video editor (Laura) and musician (Jackie) describe themselves as “planners and doers.” Possible Nicknames: The Creatives, T.O. Two, The Helping Hands (Paper) Tigers or Dolls?: They’ve got creative energy to burn and have a long-standing relationship. But their athleticism is an unknown and as countless competitors have said, the Race is a marathon AND a sprint.
