What government did right
In 2007, the auditor revealed aide Matthew Alexander (Sasha) Angus rang up more than $47,700 in personal charges on his government-issued credit card, in part for a Las Vegas bachelor party.
A 2010 review found officials still weren’t providing receipts for restaurant meals, but a recent followup found only “isolated” cases of failing to provide receipts.
“The purchases were not personal in nature nor were they for alcohol,” Saher said, and appropriate action has been taken.
In a separate report, Saher said Athabasca University has completely implemented July 2013 recommendations to improve its project controls and strategies.
