Extant

Halle Berry began her acting career in series television, in the sitcom Living Dolls, and the Oscar winner returns to it in a much different way. This new sci-fi-thriller casts her as an astronaut who returns to Earth after a year alone in space. If that was the case, how did she come back pregnant? Goran Visnjic, Camryn Manheim, Michael O’Neill, Grace Gummer and young Pierce Gagnon also star in the show, which is executive-produced by Steven Spielberg. (CBS, Global — 10 p.m.)

The Bridge

The critically acclaimed but ratings-challenged crime drama returns for its second season with Yankee, in which Sonya (Diane Kruger) encounters a man from her past and Marco (Demian Bichir) discovers to his dismay that he isn’t safe any longer in his own department. Elsewhere, Frye and Adriana (Matthew Lillard, Emily Rios) delve more deeply into the origins of the “money house.” (FX Canada — 8 p.m.)

Taxi Brooklyn

Cat (Chyler Leigh) comes to Leo’s (Jacky Ido) rescue when he runs into immigration trouble in the new episode Cherchez les Femmes. That’s not his only problem, though: he also has to deal with the murder of a friend, a Holocaust survivor. The investigation of the death leads to another shock, since an underworld family with a link to Cat apparently is involved. (NBC — 11 p.m.)

Duck Dynasty

In the new episode Brand of Brothers, Jase bristles when Willie considers having an outsider design a makeover for the Duck Commander image, so Jase and the guys just create their own logo and business cards. (A&E — 8 p.m.)
