TV TONIGHT
Welcome to Sweden
Amy Poehler offers evident support of her brother Greg, this show’s star, as she plays herself in the new episode Proving Love/Lagenhet. She seeks his character Bruce’s assistance, while another Parks and Recreation regular — Aubrey Plaza, also appearing as herself — seems to be stalking him. Bruce tries to be neighbourly as he and Emma (Josephine Bornebusch) settle into an apartment in Stockholm. (NBC — 10 p.m.)
Kirk Douglas: Before I Forget
In a one-man show, the Oscar-winning actor and stroke survivor, who is now in his 90s, takes a laid-back approach with his audience as he shares stories about his career, family, work and philosophy. In addition to clips from his many famous films, Douglas talks candidly and poignantly about how difficult he found the depression that plagued him following his 1996 stroke. (TCM — 8 p.m.)
Hollywood Game Night
The show’s host gets a salute in the title of the new episode Lynch … Jane Lynch. The inference is that James Bond-related questions will be included in the games, so it wouldn’t hurt for such contestants as Parenthood co-star Monica Potter to be up on their 007 trivia. Seth Green, Jenna Elfman, Michael Ealy, Katy Mixon (Mike & Molly) and Dave Foley are the other celebrity players. (NBC, CTV Two — 9 p.m.)
Beyond Scared Straight
The reality series adapted from Arnold Shapiro’s Oscarand Emmy Award-winning documentary Scared Straight turns its focus to Douglas County, Ga., for a new episode called Judgment Day, in which a combative Georgia teenager lies to a judge and is ordered to spend some time in jail. (A&E — 8 p.m.)
